While I vaguely remember the look of the dental office I visited as a child with its outdated ‘80s wallpaper and bland selection of sports and beauty magazines, I do remember the anxiety I felt as I awaited my name to be called. That office was certainly not my happy place.
As I grew older, I learned to accept dentist visits as a normal part of life, and there was no point complaining about it. Like everyone else I knew, I begrudgingly scheduled my exams and hoped for the best, dragging my feet into the office and hurrying out when they were done with me. While my anxiety decreased over time, I still didn’t like going to the dentist. That would be absurd. But, then again, my dentists were nothing like HENRY.
